Stern Pinball has let loose a terrifyingly retro 80s device – the Stranger Things Pinball machine. Based on skateboards, pet rocks, old school ideas, and literally the concept of gravity, this device will capture the imagination of pinball players and Netflix watchers alike. Leveraging the most successful Netflix show of all time and steeped in old-school nostalgia, the Stern table promises a silver ball experience in the terrifying world of Hawkins Indiana.
Physical real-world pinball machines have been making a big comeback lately, and I for one are happy to see their return. Although I might never get to play this table. The signed and numbered Limited Edition model will be capped at only 500 units globally – yeah the whole world. Other models will not be limited but seem to be marketed to individuals and not arcades.
Experience the terrifying forces in Hawkins, Indiana that turn this small town “upside down”. Stranger Things pinball machines will immerse players in a search to unravel the extraordinary mysteries and secret government experiments taking place at the Hawkins National Laboratory. The gameplay focuses on unlocking the hidden meanings of supernatural events occurring in town, including the appearance of a girl known as “Eleven” with telekinetic abilities. The ball is wild as Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Joyce, and Police Chief Jim Hopper help Eleven close the dimensional gate.
The game features include gravity-defying Eleven Telekinesis multi-ball lock, and a creepy ass Demogorgon creature that probably eats your ball, then spits it out. The Premium and Limited editions of the machine include a “first-ever” projector that beams images and video clips directly on the play surface. Which will either be super cool, or very distracting.
If you love Stranger Things and just have to have it here is the pricing. You can get more details at Stern Pinball. And once it arrives please have me over, I’d love to play it.
